Project Restart is a life-changing program designed to help incarcerated men break free from the cycle of generational poverty and successfully reintegrate into society. Led by Shawn Derrick, the program focuses on providing professional yet engaging and entertaining training that equips participants with the skills, mindset, and confidence they need to change their lives.
At its core, Project Restart empowers individuals to become self-reliant, build better futures, and contribute positively to their communities. It emphasizes the power of education, entrepreneurship, and character development, offering a mix of practical skills and personal growth strategies to unlock new opportunities.
WHAT WE DO...
Entrepreneurship Training:
Participants learn how to spot problems or needs and develop creative solutions, using their own ideas to create businesses that benefit others. These lessons are taught in a way that’s relatable and easy to follow, breaking down complex concepts into clear steps.
Job Readiness Skills:
The program focuses on soft skills like communication, discipline, and teamwork, ensuring participants are ready to secure and succeed in employment opportunities.
Character Development:
Through workshops and exercises, participants build stronger character, learning how to take accountability, lead with integrity, and make decisions that align with their goals.
Engaging and Accessible Content:
Every session is tailored to a 4th-grade reading level, ensuring accessibility for all learners. The material is delivered in a professional, yet humorous and entertaining style to keep participants engaged and motivated.
Mission:
To inspire and equip individuals to overcome barriers of poverty by fostering education, entrepreneurship, and personal development, creating opportunities for sustainable growth and lasting change.
Purpose:
Project Restart empowers men to acquire the skills needed to build brighter futures for themselves and their communities by breaking the chains of poverty and creating new legacies of success.
Through Project Restart, Shawn Derrick and Lifting Legacies aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of incarcerated men, offering them not just hope but practical tools to restart their lives and thrive in society.
